All that Glitters ~ Erin Montgomery

Your first experience with makeup was probably with one of those glitter sticks that could be used on your eyes, checks and everywhere else. You were probably just 7 or 8 years old and playing dress up in your room, you probably went a little over board with the glitter but you though you looked like a princess.

Well once again we are reliving our childhood with grown up glitter for fall. It seems that fall is trying to bring out the little girl who is still hiding deep inside all of us.

This fall we are seeing lots of glitter, the shimmering effect it has can only be explained by using 2 words, forever young, that’s the reason the fashion and beauty industries are obsessing over glitter this year.

Now worn properly glitter can be a grown up look but it’s all in how you wear it. You know the saying, everything in moderation; same thing applies when incorporating glitter into your everyday life.

There are 2 easy ways to add a little glitter:

A Sparkle In A Nail
With Christmas and New Years just around the corner we are always looking to dress up out outfits, this year add a little pop to any outfit with glitter nail polish. Add it over an existing colour for a more subtle look or for something a little more dramatic choose a full colour glitter for your nails.

A Sparkle In A Shoe
Another great way to bring a little glitter into your life is with a full glitter loafer or Mary Jane shoe. Pair these shoes with a pair of skinny jeans and a blazer for a more polished approach or pair it with leggings and an oversized sweater for something a little more relaxed.

Glitter has also graced the runways, it was showcased through glitter-encrusted eyebrows from Chanel, and although this look may not be the most practical it is unusually gorgeous. Not an everyday look but definitely a look you could rock at a costume party.
