Falling for Fur ~ Erin Montgomery

Cynthia Rowley

As we stroll down the paths lined with trees and their changing leaves we are reminded that fall is the season of cozy sweaters and oversized scarves, it’s the season where clothing is warm without being overly heavy and bulky.

This fall there is a new way to keep the warmth in and that is with a little fur, faux of course!

We first started noticing little pops of fur on our bags and on the ends of scarves but it seems that fur has found its voice and this fall it’s speaking out.

The best way to keep the cold air from nipping at your neck is with a fur scarf, the vintage inspired trend is the best way to add a little bit of luxe to your fall/winter looks. Because fur is mostly made in neutral tones like black, gray, brown or cream it is easy to match with any outfit.

Fur has also made its way onto our bags. It seems we have replaced the harsh metal hardware with delicate fur trims. There is also the adored full fur bag, now it may not be the most practical for everyday life but I’m sure you can find a few special occasions to pull it out for.

Aside from fur accessories you can also wear a little fur on your sleeves. Fur sleeves add drama to your outfit without drowning you in fur. A fur vest is also a great way to add a touch of fur to your outfit.

We have been preaching fall trends for the past few weeks now but this fur trend is a timeless one. Adding a piece of fur to your wardrobe is more of an investment rather than an impulse buy. It will carry you through many seasons of fall and winter. And it will pay for itself in envious looks and constant compliments.
