As the weather starts to cool off, you might find that your lips become dry, cracked and flaky. Gross, right? Who wants to pucker up to that? There are so many ways treat this, however, you need to know what causes it to prevent it! The cause? So simple: loss of moisture. There is usually a thin layer of oil that coats and protects lips.
Generally, the biggest cause of this loss is cold weather, but other causes are dehydration, using products with high alcohol content, biting or licking your lips, or drinking beverages that contain high acid concentration, such as orange juice or soda. The easiest way to protect your lips is lip balm. Find one that smells great, adds a little color and has UV protection in it and you're good to go.
